Cookie policy
What they are, which ones we use and how you stay in control.
Last updated: 31 October 2026
Cookies are small files that websites store in your browser to remember information between visits. Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, do much the same job. This page explains which ones Manual do Couro uses and how you can control them.
What we use
| Type | What it does | Set by | Can you refuse it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Site preferences | Remembers your light or dark theme, your language, your cookie choice and the checklists you tick in our guides | Manual do Couro, in your browser only | Yes, by clearing the site's data in your browser |
| Advertising | Shows ads, limits how often you see them, measures results and, if you allow it, personalises them | Google and its advertising partners | Yes, in our cookie notice |
| Security and fraud prevention | Detects invalid traffic and protects advertisers and the site | Google and our host | No, they are needed for the site to work |
Site preferences stay in your device's local storage and are never sent to our servers.
Personalised and non-personalised ads
On your first visit, we show a notice so you can choose:
- Accept all: Google may use cookies to show ads related to your interests.
- Essential only: we ask Google to show non-personalised ads only. These may still use cookies to limit how often you see an ad, measure results and fight fraud, but not to build a profile of your interests.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google may also show its own consent message, as European rules require.
How to change your choice
- Click Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page and choose again.
- Adjust ad personalisation in Google's ad settings.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may stop some features from working.
